EW.com Movie Sequel Do’s and Don’ts

Do: Kill off a main character
The Bourne Supremacy begins with a gutsy twist: The surprise assassination of Franka Potente’s Marie, who gave the first film much of its emotional resonance. The gamble paid off: Supremacy and Ultimatum are both supercharged by the title character’s quest for vengeance.
See Also: Scream II, The Dark Knight, and The Godfather Part 2. Harrison Ford always felt that Han Solo should’ve died in Return of the Jedi, which in all fairness would have been totally awesome.

The Bourne movies are one of the few trilogies that gets better as it goes on.

Bourne Again
Perez Hilton.com is reporting Matt signed for one more Bourne movie.
Read it all here.
Exciting news or what?
Bourne again in ten years.
In an interview Matt Damon said:
“I would be shocked if there was another movie,” he says. “I know the studio wants to do it. The only reason that I can’t promise is if Paul Greengrass came to me in 10 years and said, ‘Listen, I have a way to do a fourth movie that speaks to the world we’re in today’. Then I’d go, ‘OK, this doesn’t corrupt the trilogy’.”
Quite old Bourne it’d be.
Just a lil’ memo from me: The Bourne movies are book adapaions. There is one book left, The Bourne Legacy.
If you are anyway interested in reading the whole long interview, it is here.
New girl here!
You all might know Annie can’t be online for a while and why.
That’s the reason I’m here. To update the site.
My name is Teresa and I’ll do what I can to take care of the site at least while Annie is gone. (I’ll try to not blow the site up =D)
The updates start today. Stay tuned!
Damon: I was lucky to land Bourne role
Hollywood star Matt Damon insists he was lucky to land the lead role in ‘The Bourne Identity’ after starring in two critically-panned movies.
The actor claims ‘All The Pretty Horses’ and ‘The Legend of Bagger Vance’ were his worst ever career moves, but was grateful they were released after he was chosen for his role as Jason Bourne in 2002 movie ‘The Bourne Identity’.

Matt Damon – Interview
THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM – MATT DAMON (Jason Bourne)
It’s hard to imagine now, but there were those who doubted that Matt Damon was the right actor to play Jason Bourne. As the third eagerly awaited instalment in the series, The Bourne Ultimatum, nears release Damon and the tortured former black operations agent he plays so well are as one in the collective mind of the huge audience waiting for the film
But at the time of the first movie, The Bourne Identity, back in 2002, Damon, as he himself admits, wasn’t exactly flavour of the month in Hollywood. “Basically what you are saying is that it saved my ass and that’s completely true,” he laughs. “The weekend that it opened I was doing a play in the West End (of London) and I hadn’t had a film offer in six months because I’d had a couple of movies tank.
“And the word was that the first Bourne movie was going to tank, because it had been delayed so long and it had so many rounds of re-shooting, and it just had all the hallmarks of a turkey.”
