Ben & Matt in Africa?
This was a PerezHilton.com article posted, I guess, yesterday:
PerezHilton.com readers Seko and Christina live in Tanzania, East Africa, and they ran into Matt Damon and Ben Affleck there on Thursday!
What the heck are those two doing in Tanzania???? (Find out below.)
And, more importantly, how cool is it that some sexy peeps are reading our little website all the way in East Africa???? Way cool!
Here’s what the ladies had to say of their encounter:
“My friends and I live in Tanzania, East Africa (BONGO) and we just bumped into Ben and Matt at a hotel while we were having happy hour. They were the most down to earth and most awesome guys we have met in a while ( THEY ARE NOW TANZANIAN LEGENDS!!). Honestly, they were so nice and were down to take a photo with us. Matt Damon even introduced himself!! How cool is that? Plus we are pleased to report that Ben Affleck is totally HOT! and very very tall. They are here for aid work and even after a full day, they still posed for a photo. We urge everyone to go watch the Bourne Ultimatum!!”
Toronto Film Festival!
Our boy Matt attended to the Toronto Film Festival during the weekend.
He posed with children, went to a charity event and chilled around.
Lucy was there, old man Damon was there, George Clooney was there.
Even some Matt/Ben action took place.
Pictures are now in the gallery:
Sean Penn on New Matt movie!
TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) – Sean Penn is attached to play gay ’70s San Franciso politician Harvey Milk, and Matt Damon his assassin in a long-gestating project from director Gus Van Sant.
Once a distribution deal is finalized, Van Sant hopes to begin production on the as-yet-untitled feature in San Francisco as early as December. The uncertain start date may affect Damon’s participation as Milk’s killer, Dan White.
It’s the latest chapter in a long-running race to film the biopic of the first openly gay prominent elected official, which has pitted Van Sant’s project against another from fellow openly gay director Bryan Singer.
Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (“Hairspray”) have attempted to produce a big-screen version of Randy Shilts’ 1982 bio “The Mayor of Castro Street” for more than 15 years. Warner Bros. Pictures attached Singer to the project two years ago.
This summer the studio’s art-house arm, Warner Independent Pictures, brought in Singer’s “Usual Suspects” scribe Chris McQuarrie to write a new draft of the script. But McQuarrie is now in Germany with Singer working on the Tom Cruise drama “Valkyrie” and also working on the “Castro” script, making an immediate production start less likely to happen before Singer starts his “Superman” sequel commitment.
In a coincidental twist, Van Sant once wrote a draft of the “Castro” project and was set to direct his adaptation for Warners. The script for his film was written by Dustin Lance Black (“Big Love”). Producer Michael London and his Groundswell Prods. are financing the film, set to be produced by “American Beauty” producers Bruce Cohen and Dan Jinks.
Penn has never portrayed an openly gay character onscreen, but he did play the sexually ambiguous Olivia Newton-John impersonator “Groovin’ Larry” in a section of Trent Harris’ 2001 cult hit “Beaver Trilogy.” Penn’s video short was shot in 1981, then combined with Harris’ 1979 documentary short on the amateur performer and his 1985 short narrative version “The Orkly Kid,” starring Crispin Glover as Larry, to create “Beaver.”
Damon would play White, who shot San Francisco city supervisor Milk and Mayor George Moscone in 1978. After serving five years of a seven-year sentence, White committed suicide in 1985.

Matt Damon doesn’t envy Brad Pitt
Matt Damon has insisted that he would not want to trade places with Brad Pitt or George Clooney.
The 36-year-old actor admitted that he could not cope with being mobbed in the street on a daily basis like his Ocean’s Thirteen co-stars and he is happy to stay out of the media spotlight.
“I honestly don’t know how Brad does it. He can’t walk down the street anywhere, literally anywhere,” Matt told Empire magazine.
“They’re in Prague right now because Angelina’s working, and he can’t walk down the street. I went to Prague and I didn’t sign an autograph for six months – and it was great! The fame side is not interesting to me at all.”
Damon Sympathises With Pitt’s Fame
Matt Damon has sympathised with fellow Hollywood star Brad Pitt’s life in the public eye – but is secretly pleased he does not receive the same level of attention.
The Bourne Identity leading man finds it hard to fathom how the actor and partner Angelina Jolie cope with their incessant fame – and is grateful he can travel to parts of the world unnoticed.
He says, “I honestly don’t know how he does it.”
“He can’t walk down the street anywhere, literally anywhere. They’re in Prague right now because Angelina’s working, and he can’t walk down the street. I went to Prague and I didn’t sign an autograph for six months, and it was great!”

Matt Damon back with Ben?
Matt Damon is planning to work with Ben Affleck again.
The Boston natives and best friends shot to fame when they co-wrote and starred in ‘Good Will Hunting’ together, but after Damon’s career rocketed and Affleck starred in a series of flops, it was widely believed they had gone their separate ways.
It now seems ‘Bourne Identity’ star Damon is considering reuniting the pair.
Damon said: “Ben and I found a project to co-direct that we might be able to get off the ground. We’re just kind of on the hunt for something good.
“Directing feels like a natural extension, having written and then acted for all these years. It just feels like I’ve got to try it.”
Damon, 36, has made millions playing Jason Bourne in the Bourne trilogy, as well as starring in a string of box office hits, including ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, ‘The Departed’ and ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’.
Affleck recently said he had given up hoping for success after his films ‘Gigli’ and ‘Jersey Girl’ flopped spectacularly and were ridiculed by critics.
However, his latest film ‘Hollywoodland’ has been well received and is being tipped for possible Oscar success.

Matt Damon Pops the Question
Source: E! Online
Matt Damon seems to be in a rush to catch up to his newlywed crony, Ben Affleck.
The Talented Mr. Ripley star is taking his relationship with girlfriend Luciana Barroso, 29, to the next level, after popping the question to the Argentine-born beauty shortly before Labor Day weekend, E! has confirmed.
While Affleck is currently expecting his first child with wife Jennifer Garner, Damon will take on stepfather duties to Barroso’s 6-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
It will be the first marriage for the 34-year-old actor. No wedding date has been set.
Damon and Barroso, a former bartender who now works as an interior designer, have been together for two years.
The 29-year-old brunette was at Damon’s side throughout the European shoot of 2004′s Ocean’s Twelve and has accompanied him home to Boston to meet his family and friends and keep him company on the set of his upcoming film, The Departed.
Damon was previously linked with Winona Ryder (whom he famously dumped during an Oprah appearance), Claire Danes, Minnie Driver and Affleck’s former assistant, Odessa Whitmore.
Apart from planning his forthcoming nuptials, Damon has a full slate ahead of him.
He’ll next be seen opposite George Clooney in the upcoming drama, Syriana, a first-person account of life inside the CIA. The film is set for release on Nov. 23.
Sticking to the same theme, Damon will also appear in the film The Good Shepherd, a 40-year-history of the CIA, told through the eyes of one of its founding officers. Angelina Jolie and Robert De Niro also star in the film, which is set for a Dec. 22, 2006 release.
Damon is also set to star in a recently-announced third Bourne film–The Bourne Ultimatum. The movie is targeted for a 2007 release.
The just-engaged thesp can currently be seen on the big screen in The Brothers Grimm, opposite Heath Ledger.
Congratulations the happy couple!
